Things in my life rarely go as planned- Last Saturday was supposed to go smoothly; Photo shoot at 8am in a flower field and spend the rest of the day developing and making prints. Well the model I was supposed to photograph that morning cancelled an hour before we were supposed to start shooting. After a few hours, I decided that I couldn’t let the day go by without shooting SOMEONE. Enter Marina! Marina was kind enough to let me use her home as the set for a past shoot in which I photographed a friend of hers. I told her that day that she and I would have to work together soon or the world would surely end. Well, there was no better excuse for an impromptu shoot than the one I had Saturday. There was, however, yet another issue. After picking Marina up for our shoot in the field, the engine in my SUV went to shit. Hole in the block. It was starting to look like I wouldn’t get anything done. Things worked out well enough for me to get the brakes fixed on my other car just in time for us to wander the countryside and stumble upon a state senators house. He was kind enough to let us use his 150 acre property (aren’t politicians wonderful!?) And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how these lovely photographs of Marina came about.
